Jim's Promotion Ceremony at the 81st RSC Reserve Center in Ft. Jackson, SC on March 16th, 2012. |
Dear Prayer Warriors, Family and Friends,
Praise the Lord, we have finally received our Military Orders! We are heading to Fort Campbell, Kentucky on March 25th!
Praise:
*
Jim has been promoted to Captain! It usually takes 6 months after
starting your first duty station to be promoted. For Jim to be promoted
in his Army Reserve unit, before he begins his Active Duty career is an
extra blessing we see from the Lord!
*
Our orders are for 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell and Jim's
report date is April 2nd. There were no surprises in the orders, and we
are going where we thought we were going.
*
There are two other Grace Brethren Chaplains at Ft. Campbell. One of
them, Chaplain (Maj.) Billy Graham, will be Jim's mentor and supervising
Chaplain. You can't go wrong with a mentor named "Billy Graham"!
Prayer:
*
We will leave Aiken on March 25th and report on the 26th. Pray for all
the logistics of moving plans, paperwork, and communication with the
Army to be in place. Pray also for patience and perseverance as we go
through in-processing and have the first 10 days on base to maneuver
through the necessary paperwork.
*
There is a 5-7 month wait list for on-post housing. Pray for wisdom in
decision making as to where we should live off-post, when we should
move our household goods, and orchestrating the timing of our move.
*
Jim has been "penciled in" to a unit in the 101st, but it will not be
confirmed until he reports to Ft. Campbell. Pray for God's hand to be
in this decision that is out of our hands.
*Pray
for our families as we all adjust to this new season of life (we have
enjoyed living only a few minutes away from most of our immediate
family!) and for the Lord to give Margo extra grace and understanding
during this big change in her little world.
Thank you all for your support and prayers during this transition! We look forward to updating you next time from Ft. Campbell!
In Christ,
Jim, Ashley, and Margo Murray
