Jim got me a medallion for us to have during the deployment. He will have the outside piece and I'll have the inside heart. They fit together when they are combined and have the verse 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 inscribed on them. Jim also got Margo a gumball machine - she is the biggest gum fan I have ever seen - so she was so excited to have her very own gumball machine. He put in 270 gumballs (the number of days he will be gone) and a picture of him and Margo in the machine. She'll get a gumball a day for the amount of days he will be gone and Jim is taking some of the same gumballs as well so that he and Margo can have "gum parties" where he and Margo each get a piece of gum and chew it while on skype. We started gum parties with Nina and it will be fun to add another component of fun to our skype sessions with Jim while he's away.
oh so precious and stirs my heart up for what you all are facing. thank you for the sacrifices you are making as a family and as individuals. even though i know you probably don't feel this way about yourself, you are so brave! but most of all, it is evident that the Lord is upholding you. sending love and hugs.
