Daddy and Margo's Day Out

Getting Caught
So now that Margo is officially on the move I REALLY have to keep an eye on her. Today she enjoyed eating lint/grass/hair/dirt off the floor, chewing on the phone charger and the computer cord, and - my personal favorite - licking the dog squeaky toys (I know, the least harmful to her, but to me the most gross). This is pretty much her standard "deer in headlights/I've been caught" look.

One of the BIG Questions
Anyone who has a young child knows several questions that everyone asks. One of the big ones - "How is he/she sleeping?" and all variations of people asking if your baby is sleeping THROUGH THE NIGHT. Well, up until now I have been deceiving everyone. I would say "yes, Margo is a good sleeper" and I think I deceived myself into believing this too because honestly she was! She would only wake up one or twice during the night and want to nurse then be put back down. I thought "hey, that's pretty good! at least she doesn't want to stay up all night playing!" Well, I've come to my breaking point. After 10 and a half months without a full night's sleep (the one time I was away from Margo I still had to wake up in the middle of the night to pump) I am putting my foot down. Starting last night I am no longer nursing Margo in the middle of the night - there I've said it in writing and Lord willing, it will happen! Jim and I agreed to switch off getting up with her and putting her back to bed without eating. Last night was great because she didn't wake up until 5:45am. Maybe she knows something is up, I guess we'll see soon enough. Wish us luck!

Puffs and a Movie
Well it was more than just teething as I first thought. Margo had her first illness - a virus that had to run its course over the past week. She was so miserable on Wednesday that I ended up putting on a movie, sat her in her high chair, and spilled a bunch of her favorite puff cereal in front of her. It didn't last long, before the movie was fully underway she turned around to look at me and cried to be held. :(
