Home School experiment - Moon Cake!

Part of our home school curriculum suggested we make a moon cake out of "moon dust" (dry ingredients of a cake mix) and mix in wet ingredients into "craters" of holes we made in the dry ingredients.  Then we do an experiment with bubbling baking soda and vinegar before mixing it all together and baking it!

"Mom, look I can make my face look like a moon!

Bubbling volcano from baking soda and vinegar!

The cake turned out great and we put powdered sugar on top to make it kind of like a pound cake.  Margo didn't like eating much but we baked it in a circle pan and ate it in the stations of the moon to get more into the moon spirit! :)
