Fort Campbell is hosting the Hero & Remembrance Run this weekend. Part of the run is a boot display of over 7000 boots with all fallen service members in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2004 to 2014. We were able to donate a pair of Jim's boots to the display and Margo, JD and I walked around the display. We were there at 5:00pm which is when Retreat is called and the flag at the headquarters is taken down in a ceremony. It being the day that Jim also left for deployment, I don't think it will be a memory I will soon forget. I am so proud to be a small part of this legacy and amazed at the courage and sacrifice our armed forces make for us!
